I stumbled upon Outside Online when I was sent a feature article about a man who was embarking on a hiking trek from Patagonia to Alaska.

I was immediately hooked on what this online, outdoorsy community could offer–not just a list of the best places to hike, but a deeper look into individuals who share a passion for all things outdoors, what drives them, and how they inspire others!

Browsing their website, you can see their mission in action:

To inspire active participation in the world outside through award-winning coverage of the sports, people, places, adventure, discoveries, health and fitness, gear and apparel, trends and events that make up an active lifestyle.

I believe having an active lifestyle easily coincides with being a traveler, and I can appreciate the purpose of this community as it compares to the Postcard Press community. “Inspiring active participation” is something that I think we can all get behind, whether it is simply trekking outdoors for a hike or getting on a plane for the first time and seeing a place you’ve only read about.

So, have a look around their website, because there is something for everyone! From the magazine and the adventure videos to their podcast you can subscribe to and everything in between! As an avid hiker, my favorite content is from the “Trail Life” section, but I also take the time to read the “Latest” in the Travel section to stay up to date with travel news and opinions.
